Directory service

KnowAGuyNJ provides advertising space and directory information for independently owned and operated businesses. KnowAGuyNJ is not a contractor, employment agency, broker, project manager, warranty provider, or party to any agreement between a homeowner and a listed business.

Paid placement

Directory positions are paid advertising placements. The #1 position is the paid featured placement. Placement order is not a review score, quality rating, recommendation, or representation that one business is better than another.

Business responsibilities

Listed businesses are responsible for the truth and accuracy of their listing information and for maintaining all licenses, registrations, insurance and other credentials required by law. KnowAGuyNJ may request documentation and may refuse, suspend or remove a listing that appears inaccurate, unlawful, deceptive, unsafe, or inconsistent with these Terms.

Homeowner responsibilities

Homeowners are responsible for evaluating and selecting contractors and should independently verify licensing, insurance, references, pricing, contracts and suitability before authorizing work. KnowAGuyNJ does not guarantee the quality, timing, safety, pricing or outcome of services provided by any listed business.

Availability and exclusivity

There are up to three paid positions per service category per town. Position availability is first come, first served. Purchasing a position does not create geographic exclusivity outside the specific purchased town, category and placement.

Term, renewal and cancellation

Paid placements are annual unless otherwise stated. Automatic renewal, cancellation and refund rules are described in our Cancellation & Refund Policy.

Acceptable listing content

Listings may not contain materially false claims, unlawful offers, impersonation, deceptive credentials, infringing content, malicious links or content reasonably likely to damage the operation or reputation of the directory.

Limitation of directory role

To the extent permitted by law, KnowAGuyNJ is not responsible for disputes, property damage, personal injury, delays, nonperformance, warranties, estimates, contracts, workmanship or payment issues arising between users and listed businesses.

Changes

We may update these Terms as the service evolves. Material changes may be communicated to active paying businesses using the billing or contact information on file.
